why?

Hello! My name is Georgie and I have created the campaign 'Interrupt' for my Final Year Project for my Digital Media degree. Aiming to encourage audiences to pursue their potential, this project serves as an archive of empowering and influential women, spurring momentum in local communities.
While I acknowledge gender equality is a long lasting plight that has made considerable progress in recent years, still 42% of LGBTQ+ workers have experienced discrimination in the workplace, only 14% of construction workers are women (majority being office-based). Moreover in West Yorkshire specifically, only 8 out of 100 firefighters are women (KLTV, 2023) and 66% of companies have no female representation at director level (State of the Region Report 2021), illustrating an evident equality gap.

So, I invite you to support, learn from and celebrate the local women, transgender and non-binary people in the workplace who are interrupting narratives and defying barriers, speaheading a movement towards an equitable worksphere.
